opinions on this class (2/17 week)

honestly I am pretty much overwhelemed with the assignments that jenn expects us to do for this class. It would probably be a good idea for me to drop blogging class,but at the same time I know i shouldn't because it is a probably a really good opurtunity for me because I like being on the internet often. I haven't really been commenting on people's blogs, but that will change today because i have some seriously free time during school. like i said in my last blog, I like using the NPR website becuase you can listen to the article instead of reading it. obviously it is really hard for me to meet the deadlines for this class, on sunday nights I get really stressed out because i rarely work on this through out the week.

NPR ASSIGNMENT(late)

-I think it would be great if Jenn would assign us more articles that we can listen to from NPR, listening to that segment was very interesting. For me it was quite simple to read over the short article while listening to the radio segment, and I am able to write a little somthing about it because it made sense to me.

After listening to the short segment I found out the Walden HS project is in Walden, North Vermont. HD Through did some of his writing near the Walden Pond and that is the primary reason why the project is situated in that particular spot.
-The students at Walden HS are probably getting a very fine education and learning about themselfs at the same time, but I can't see how the students will be able to fulfill highschool requirements. Personally I dred going to math class everyday but I have to do it or I'm not going to graduate. The article said that there are no math classes offered at the Walden Project.
Like most people I have tendency to become ill when being in subzero temperatures for too long. Although these kids probably get used to it, they might get sick from being outside for extended amounts of time. As a needy student, I know that I need a comfortable seat if the teacher expects me to get any learning done.

DISCLAIMER

-It is becoming increasing harder for me to write blogs because I am distracted by tv and myspace time and time again. I would really like to end up getting a good grade in this class but i am deffiantly falling behind with the assignments that jenn expects us to complete each week. It sure makes me feel accomplished or good when i finish writing a hearty blog.=) I hope as i continue in this class that my blogs will continue to grow in length. Somedays i really feel like trying hard in this class, but on other days i really don't care too much about it.
-Now I will take a couple of moments and catch up on my late assignments for week two before I even attempt to start on week three's assiments. If I starting writing on my blogspot page everyday then I think it will become a habitual thing because i really like using the internet.

^ I went through hell trying to get the video to play on my blogspot page, but i dont think blogspot and youtube work together. Either that or I am doing somthing terribly wrong. It would make me happy if you would take the time out of your day, click on that link, listen to the techno song and give me some feed back as to what you thought about it. The song is by some European artist name Fredrico Franchi. I stumbled across his name when i was doing some reseach on wikipedia concerning the Chicago Music scene. This kind of music(house) was created in 1970s Chicago in a club called the Warehouse... tell me what you think and i will write more on this post later yall!

thinking about target

I don't think the ad with the target girl on it is that inappropriate, but it dosen't look like target's most inovative or tastefull ad campaign. The ad almost looks a little outdated...it dosen't seem like it's from this winter. The girl in the picture is dressed completely modest and the only thing mildly provocative about it is that her legs are sprawled out. I also doubt target was trying to make her look sexy and i probably wouldn't have realised that this ad is suggestive if it wasen't in that article.

tip point

it was almost painfull for me to read through the introduction. i can see that it is going to be very difficult for me to continue reading this book...im not sure why Jenn wants us to read it.
honestly i haven't completed the Tipping Point reading and i have only gotten through the introduction.

-They mentioned Issac Misrahi in the introduction, he was a popular fashion designer in the 90s and i think he has a cheepo collection available at Target now. A couple of weeks ago I watched a documentary on HBO about Issac Misrahi, it was a pretty good movie. the only factoid in the book that barely caught my attention was that in 1995 he had his runway models wear hush puppie shoes. i remember my grandma used to wear hush puppie shoes and they seemed very comfortable to me. earlier today i was looking at the shoes online and there is a cute pair of mokosins that i am thinking about ordering, i probably wont end up ordering them though.

observation/comments

In the winter time, i have a tendency to not was my hands as much because i have really dry skin and it hurts when i was my hands sometimes. It dosen't seem that important to me, normally i am a privite person and i dont shake hands or hug people that often. But i would feel in danger if my helf care professional had dirty paws, it is pretty obvious how to fix the dirty hand problem though. I have trouble beleaving that most doctors fail to wash their hands before taking care of their patients, but it is unfortunate that 100,000 Americans die each from hospital aquired infections. =(

-Hand sanityzer despences were installed in every class room at tw. I dont really have a personal opinion on that, but hopefully students will use them everyday and it will cut back on illness. ;(
